Aldi Red Wine Selection

Aldi Red Wine

Aldi Red Wines: The best budget Red wine

Aldi is known for it’s cheap wine brand Winking Owl which is probably the best $3 wine you can buy. But Aldi carries a range of wines and prices can get up to $15 a bottle (or possibly more).

When you buy your wine at Aldi you tend to get much more bang for your buck. Aldi red wine comes in many different brand names but most are made exclusively to sell at Aldi stores.

So if you find a wine you like at Aldi you can probably only get it at Aldi.

Aldi Red Wine Brands

You can buy a range on wine brands at Aldi but most have one thing in common. They are exclusive to Aldi. So where is this wine coming from?

Are Aldi employees brewing and bottling the next batch of Winking Owl in the backroom? Fortunately they are not. Aldi wine is produced by many different wineries and then bottled and branded specifically for Aldi.

This is generally known as private labeling or contract manufacturing. This is basically the same way they get all of their store brand products, they find a product they like and have the producer of the product make it and put one of Aldi’s brands on it.

An example of this is Winking Owl Wine being produced by E&J Gallo Winery in California. You may not know the name but you would recognize a bunch of their brand name wines.

They produce the wine for Aldi and label it as Winking Owl. They are not the only winery producing for Aldi. You can find Aldi wines produced in other states and even other countries.

Some of the brands that Aldi’s red wine list fall into are: Winking Owl, Bridge Road, Burlwood Cellars, 30 Miles, Bear Bros., Hwy 5, Moiselle, Outlander, Peaks & Tides, and others.

Many of these are going to be tough to find outside of an Aldi store. That is one of the reasons the keep the prices of their wine so low, you aren’t paying for a brand name.
