Aldi Portable Jump Starter
Aldi will be carrying a 600-Amp Portable Jump Starter from Auto XS the week of December 21st, 2022. This Jump Starter will be available as a limited time Aldi Find and it will be selling for $59.99.
If you don’t have a portable jump starter in your car already I highly recommend getting on, whether or not you get this specific one is up to you. Having one of these in your car lets you make sure you can get your car started without a 2nd car to jump you. That is really handy if your car won’t start in your garage, or in a parking space where it is tough to reach with cables from a 2nd vehicle.
Aldi’s Auto XS Portable Jump Starter is a 600-Amp jump starter and also has 3 USB ports to charge cellphones and tablets. The battery is an AGM rechargeable battery with reverse polarity warning LED/Alarm.
Be sure that the portable jump starter you buy is big enough to jump start your vehicle. This is a 600-Amp jump starter but it isn’t clear whether that is peak amp, starting amp, or cranking amps. The Amp rating is important if you have a larger engine, you need one with enough cranking/starting amp to get your engine going.
We also don’t know what the battery capacity is on this so be sure to check the package for that info. The capacity will determine how many times you can jump start without recharging and how many times you can charge a phone.
This is also one of the larger styles of jump starters which can be inconvenient to store in many vehicles. I personally use a small portable jump starter that is just a bit bigger than a larger power bank that you would use to charge a phone. This one from Nexpow looks to be similar size to what I use.
That small size makes it very useful as a backup charger because it is small enough to throw in a purse or backpack and I use it to charge electronics while camping. These are great gifts for anyone that doesn’t have one, especially new drivers.

Is It A Good Deal?
I personally would go with a smaller power bank sized jump starter because it is so much more convenient to store and use as a charger for electronics. If I was going to get one of these large starters I would want it to include a compressor so I could add air to my tires with the same tool.
