Aldi Cordless Screwdriver
This week’s Aldi Finds includes the Ferrex 4V Cordless Screwdriver for $19.99. It will be available starting the week of September 14, 2022.
This mini cordless screwdriver set includes 54 bits and a magnetic bit adapter. It also has a built in LED work light so you can see what you are screwing and a flashlight in the handle just in case.
Aldi’s little screwdriver is not built for heavy duty use but would be perfect for small jobs. It would be helpful for putting together small items or furniture but you would likely need to tighten it up by hand.
The Ferrex 4V Screwdriver has just 5 Nm torque which is about 3.69 foot pounds of torque. That is not a lot in case you were wondering. That means it is good for turning those easy screws but it is not meant for really tightening something down.
Good for a handy little tool to keep in the drawer so you can use it instead of a manual screwdriver but it won’t replace your cordless drill or driver. Grab the Workzone Folding Workbench at Aldi to help hold your projects.
FERREX is the brand Aldi uses for most of their tools. Many are well reviewed considering the price point, like the recent Ferrex Electric Mower.

Is It A Good Deal?
Before you wonder if this is a good deal you should make sure it is something you would use. Small electric screwdrivers like this are meant for small jobs and lightweight use.
Typically you would use one of these to put together some furniture that has pre-drilled holes. It would also work for the Ikea type furniture with a bunch of long allen wrench bolts. It is probably not going to fair well trying to sink a screw into a stud.
If you have decided you want one of these cordless screwdrivers you should check out a few other options before you buy.
Ferrex VS The Competition
The good thing about Aldi’s 4V screwdriver is it comes with a full set of bits. That is really handy if you don’t already have a set or need another set to keep around the house.
The bad thing about the Ferrex is the price. As of posting this I was able to find multiple options from well known brands on sale for around $20, about $5 less than Aldi’s. Those did not have as many bits or the nice carrying case so if those are important to you they may be worth the $5 more.
Looking online I found a few good options to look at if you are considering this type of rechargeable screwdriver. The most versatile that I found is this Black and Decker version. It has a handle that can be used straight or at an angle and also has a built in flashlight. It only has two bits so keep that in mind.
If you like the style of the Ferrex but want a name brand you could check out this Skill Screwdriver that comes with 9 bits.
FERREX 4V Rechargeable Screwdriver Reviews
Equal to name brands
I have had both Black & Decker, and skill brand cordless screwdrivers and can honestly say the FERREX brand has just as much power as the other and more options a built-in flashlight was a surprising feature and a handy carrying case. It comes with 52 bits and an extension with a wall charger. In conclusion I could not be happier with this. I would recommend it to anybody
Amazing tools every time
