Lionel Hogwarts Or Polar Express Train Sets at ALDI
Starting the week of November 9th, 2022 you will be able to pick up a Lionel Classic Christmas Train Set for just $34.99. This Lionel Train Set comes in two themes: the Hogwarts Express (Harry Potter Train) and Polar Express.
Lionel is a classic model train company and these two are some of the more popular movie based train sets. Each train set is 28 pieces in total with four train cars and 24 pieces of track. This set will create a 65 inch x 41 inch train loop.
This train is operated by 2 AA batteries (not included) which drives it forward with or without sound. The train engine has working headlight as well.
If you choose to turn the sound on you will get steam chuffing, whistles, bells, and three movie announcements. The announcements listed by Aldi seem to be Harry Potter related so I am not sure if the Polar express has its own announcements or not.

Is It A Good Deal?
This does look like a really good price for a Lionel Train Set. I am sure this is one of the lower end model trains from Lionel because some can get to be hundreds of dollars. Aldi does not list the specific model number or exact size of the train but it looks similar to the Lionel 7119681 that I found at Target.
That lower end version does not have great reviews on Target or Walmart and I wasn’t able to find it on Amazon. I did find some more expensive versions with a remote which does have great reviews for both the Hogwarts Express and Polar Express versions.
The current prices on Amazon will be listed below so you can compare. It is probably worth going with a more expensive version if you are wanting something that will get a lot of use.

A great toy for mom dad and small boys
This item runs well. The toddlers are excited to watch it run. It needs to be on a flat surface. A large table or non-carpeted floor. It goes together fast. My daughter and son-in-law put it under the tree in the kitchen and the grandsons love it.
AND it was an inexpensive introduction to model trains for the very young
