Check your salad, Aldi has recalled most of their salads and salad kits for possible listeria contamination.
EDIT: Aldi has expanded this recall on December 23, 2021 (PDF) and January 8, 2022 (PDF) to include salads and salad kits from Dole. The December 23rd recall include stores located in Delaware, Georgia, Maryland, New York, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee and Virginia. The recall on January 8th includes stores in Alabama, Connecticut, Delaware, Georgia, Indiana, Kentucky, Massachusetts, Maryland, Michigan, Mississippi, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, South Carolina, Tennessee, Virginia, Vermont and West Virginia. Aldi salad recall December 21,2021: Aldi has recalled all Fresh Express, Little Salad Bar and Simply Nature Salad Kits and Salad Bowls that were produced in Streamwood, IL as a precautionary measure after listeria was detected in a product that was also processed in that facility. Aldi does not carry the product that tested positive for listeria but is recalling all products produced in the same facility.
The recall is limited to select ALDI stores located in parts of Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kentucky, Minnesota,
Missouri, South Dakota and Wisconsin. Recalled products will be pulled from shelves at affected but the same items may still be available on the shelf if they were produced in another facility and not affected by this recall.

If you have already purchased a salad or salad kit and want to know if it is included in the recall you can check the list from Aldi here which includes the product name description and UPC code of the affected products and lists all best buy dates as affected by the recall. The FDA recall notice includes the product codes that are found on the each product buy the best buy date to check if your specific salad is included. My salad is recalled what do I do?
According to the FDA: “In the event consumers have the recalled products in their refrigerators, they should be discarded and not consumed. To obtain a refund or for more information, consumers may call the Fresh Express Consumer Response Center at (800) 242-5472 between the hours of 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. Eastern Time. Refunds are also available where purchased.”
