Aldi Smokeless Electric Grill
Looking to do a little indoor grilling? Check the Aldi Finds Aisle starting September 21st, 2022 for the Ambiano XL Smokeless Electric Grill.
This is a larger smokeless grill will be selling for $79.99 when it makes it onto store shelves. That is over double the price of the smaller version that Aldi sold earlier this year (see details below).
Besides being the “XL” model it looks like this model does have a few nice upgrades. First is it has a fan to extract smoke which should improve the “smokeless” effect.
The second upgrade is the included tempered glass lid. Not only will this help the fan pull the smoke out it will also help keep the splatter down.
The design of a “smokeless” grill makes it so the heat is coming from the grill grate and the fat that drips off will fall into the tray below where it won’t smoke.
There will still be some smoke anytime you are cooking at a high temperature but by stopping the fat from flaring up or being heat to the smoke point you will reduce it significantly.

Is the XL version a good deal?
The best deal I found that had similar features is the hOmelabs Smokeless Grill. It has a slightly smaller cook area (13.5″ x 8″) but still has the fan and lid. It is also 1500 watts so power/heat should be similar.
The bonus you get with the hOmelabs is it also includes a griddle plate so you get two appliances in one unit. The other nice feature is most of the parts are dishwasher safe (grill, griddle, drip tray, lid).
Looking to get the best out there and willing to spend a bit more money to get it? I would give the Ninja FG551 Foodi Smart XL 6-in-1 Indoor Grill a try.
This appliance is a combination of indoor grill, airfryer, roast, bake, broil, and dehydrator.
Having appliances with multiple uses gives more flexibility and takes up less space in the cabinet. I haven’t used this one but Ninja is generally well regarded for their air fryers and similar appliances.
I like the idea of having the airfryer combination with the grill. I think the airfryer mixed with the grill would give a more grill-like crispy char.

Is the standard sized grill a good deal?
The Ambiano Electric Grill will help you grill indoors without all the smoke, but is a better deal than the competition? Like most Aldi Finds products this seems to be a decent price from what I can tell.
Aldi does not list the temperature range, Wattage or dimensions of the standard size grill on their website so I can’t be certain on comparing exact specifications. But looking online I am able to find some similar smokeless electric grills in the $25-200 price range.
The closest looking competition is the Gotham Steel Smokeless Indoor Grill. This “as seen on tv” product has a similar ceramic coated grate that they say is dishwasher and metal utensil safe as well as nonstick.
The regular price is listed at $49.99 online but you can probably find it on sale if you are patient. This grill looks to have a similar design and includes similar parts.
If the Aldi version performs the same I would say Aldi’s is a good deal.
If you are just looking for the cheapest option out there with decent reviews the Ovente Indoor Smokeless Grill is just $28.82 right now. It is cheaper than Aldi’s version but it looks to have standard nonstick coating which I would prefer to avoid in a grill as it usually doesn’t last for me.

The top handle started to disintegrate most likely it may like me two more months and then I’ll have to change the handle. That’s a big floor

Aldi smokeless grill
Hi, if you don’t mind me asking, what have you cooked on it so far? Does food stick to it? How easy/difficult is clean up? I bought one today for $19.99. But I’m trying to decide if I should exchange it for the 2 in 1 grill/griddle.
Ambient 2 in 1 smokeless grill from Aldi.
Bought this grill at Aldi. I’m very satisfied. Have used it several times over the last week with no complaints. Worth more than what I paid. I give it a 5 star rating.
