Aldi ‘Vegan Chicken’ and Waffle Sandwich
This Earth Grown Plant Based Chik’n and Waffle Sandwich will be available at Aldi the week of August 8, 2022. For just $4.99 you will get two sandwiches made with a vegan Chik’n patty and two maple flavoured waffle buns.
This Aldi Find will be in the frozen section and can be ready to eat in as little as two minutes. But I’m assuming the two minutes is cooking it in a microwave and may not give the best result. I am guessing this item would turn out better in an Air Fryer/toaster oven or regular oven.

Should You Buy It?
Until it hits store shelves and we get some real world reviews here your guess is as good as mine. For just $4.99 for two sandwiches I think it is priced pretty cheap and if you are vegan or just curious it is probable worth giving a shot. At the very least it would be a nice quick and easy meal.
I have been impressed with some of the other Earth Grown products like the Earth Grown vegan dumplings, Aldi’s Famous Meatless Meatballs, and a few others. I am not vegan but I do eat some of Aldi’s vegan products regularly because they are good. So if you have tried the Vegan Chik’n and Waffle Sandwich let us know by leaving a review below so other know if it is worth picking up!
UPDATE: I Tried it!
Based on a bunch of good reviews here I figured I should try it out and see how good it is. And the reviewers were right! This is a good little sandwich and you get two for under five dollars! I added a little Burman’s hot sauce on top and dipped it in Specially Selected Maple Syrup which was a great flavor boost.
The Chik’n patty was good and you could easily be convinced that it was a regular chicken patty. It has a similar flavor and texture as a normal chicken patty or chicken nugget. The patty itself is not overly flavorful but neither are normal chicken patties, it won’t compete with Red Bag Chicken or similar products that use whole pieces of chicken but it was tasty.
The waffle buns were pretty good and held together well, I wanted a bit more maple flavor so I added some syrup but I am glad they didn’t overdo it with a “fake maple” flavor or sweetness, I’d rather add my own. One sandwich with a side of Season’s Choice Fries and a salad was a quick and easy meal.
How to cook the Earth Grown Chik’n and Waffle Sandwich
The back of the package only gives you microwave instructions. I decided to go with the airfryer because I prefer a sandwich like this to be crispy. Reviewers below said it was still good out of the microwave so feel free to follow the package instructions.
Vegan Chicken and Waffle Air Fryer Instructions:
Preheat Air Fryer to 400F. Separate the waffles and chicken and put them in the preheated air fryer for 5-10 minutes checking the waffles every few minutes. Once the waffles are golden and a little crispy take them out and flip the Chik’n patty. Continue to cook the patty for 3-5 minutes or until heated through and crisp on the outside.
Cook times in air fryers tend to vary a bit based on brand so watch this closely since I bet the waffles go from good to burnt fairly quick. I made this using a Cuisinart Air Fryer Toaster Oven with the basket at the lowest position. Since that model has a window I could check on the waffles to see when the color was changing.

I only purchased one package and have sense checked both stores in my town every few days for more.. they are all gone!!! Whennnnnn will there be MORE??? Omg! Best Aldi vegan product ever.
I became a vegetarian for almost six months now. Since I am a excellent cook, finding foods that I like has been a real challenge. Most meatless products taste and smell like dog food; however, this Chik’N & Waffle Sandwich is very impressive, I love it. The only thing I am concerned about are the ingredients. Processed foods are not to be eaten too often, I rather cook, or grab something quick, which happens to be processed.
