Is the Easy Home Air Conditioner a Good Deal?
Aldi is selling this portable air conditioner for $229.99 which seems like a reasonable price, but lets take a look. There are plenty of options out there for a 8000 BTU air conditioner like this. You can either go with a well known brand like this Black and Decker Portable Air Conditioner or you can with a lesser know brand online like Shinco (or many other small brands like it). The price difference between the two is pretty substantial and both are higher than Aldi. The Shinco Portable Air conditioner is the cheaper of the two, selling for $268.99 at the time of this writing. If you want to go with a more widely known brand the Black and Decker is selling for $332.85 (at the time of writing).
So Aldi’s Air Conditioner looks to be a pretty good deal. It is selling for about $40 less than similar models online and about $100 less than the name brand options. This could be worth testing out if you are in the market for a new portable AC unit. If you have tried it out be sure to leave a review below so everyone can hear your first hand experience.
Easy Home Portable Air Conditioner Reviews
dead after 2 years
the price on them is great but they don’t last more than 2 years. I’m also someone who HATES having to throw out products quickly so i would for sure never buy one of these again.
Touch Panel stopped working
After only 2 months, the Touch Panel stopped working. I now have to use the remote to control the unit. I have not been able to locate where to get support to see if the problem is fixable.
The unit itself is very good. It cools my living room (12 x 15) as advertised, but I use it mostly for the Humidifier feature.
Idk what this guy is talking about.
This AC unit worked so well for us. My room is 525sq ft. I closed all of my balancing dampers to the other rooms because this unit worked so efficiently and effectively.
Doesn’t cool room
The unit only blows moderately cool air. The only filter is clean, as are the coils. Will not cool a 12×16 insulated shed. May have leaked coolant which will be costly to recharge. Only one season old. It was a poor performer last summer. worst this year.
