Coming soon to an Aldi near you: the Ambiano Electric Glass Kettle in the Aldi Finds aisle. This goes along with a bunch of other coffee and café type items for the week of January 17th, 2024. You can get this along with a Crofton Glass French Press and the coffee or espresso mugs for a great way to start your morning (and feed your caffeine addiction).
You may think that you don’t need an electric kettle because all it does is boil water but these things are handy. They tend to boil water much faster than an electric stove and about as fast as a gas stove. Having it out on your counter ready to go and the fact that it shuts itself off once it boils is really handy.
You won’t go back after using one for a while. It is a nice quick way to make some tea or coffee (french press or pour over) or boil the water a little quicker for pasta or instant noodles.

In the past I used a kettle that was almost identical to this from another brand and really liked it but I recently upgraded to this gooseneck kettle with multiple temperature settings and a hold function. The multiple temp setting is great for coffee and tea when you want the water a little below boiling temp.
Is the Ambiano Electric Kettle A Good Deal?
Based on what I am seeing on Amazon the Ambiano looks like a great deal. Similar sized kettles with the same features are generally selling for $30+ and Amazon’s “best budget” pick is selling for more than that right now.
By coincidence that best budget pick is the Hamilton Beach 1.7L that I used to own and use regularly. It worked great and would recommend it if you need a basic kettle with a larger size than the gooseneck versions. If you just want the gooseneck for the look and easy pouring you can probably find one for around $35 from Bodum but I think it is worth it to pay a little more for the adjustable temperature and temp hold features.

In order to get a electric kettle for a similar price on Amazon you will probable have to go down to a 1L kettle instead of the 1.7L and get an off brand.

Stopped working
After little more than a year, it just stopped woking. Great while it lasted.
Only used once
Used this one time. Didn’t move it or disrupt it but when I went to use it the second time it wouldn’t come on. I’m very disappointed.
