It Chops! It Dices! Ok the spiralizing and ribboning may not fit well in the infomercial script but the Crofton Food Chopper does all of these. It will be available for $9.99 as a limited time ALDI Find.
It includes four stainless steel blades that can be changed out quickly to give you different cuts. It gives you two types of cuts (chop/dice) and has a spiralizer blade to made noodle size spirals and a ribbon blade to create thin and wide ribbons. All the cuts will drop down into the container below making prep work quick and easy.
This isn’t the first spiralizer Aldi has sold this year and they also had the full electric Ambiano spiralizer earlier.

Is It A Good Deal?
There are plenty of options out there for this type of vegetable chopper but Aldi’s does seem to be a bit unique in that it also includes the vegetable spiralizer and ribboner. That is not a common feature on the models I found online. The options I found generally have a mandoline slicer option that the Crofton doesn’t offer in this product (Crofton does have a stand alone mandoline). They also usually have more blade options, a grater and occasionally some unique features like an egg separator and a citrus juicer.
The online competition generally sells for $20-30 for a well reviewed chopper/mandoline combination with the container bottom. The best deal I found was the 12-in-1 Food Chopper from KEOUKE. It slices, dices, chops and more but does not spiralize or create spiral ribbons.
Another popular option was the LHS Vegetable Chopper. Again this option doesn’t have the spiralizer or ribbon cut options but it has the mandoline slicer and grater.
Overall Aldi’s Food Chopper and Spiralizer is a pretty good deal especially if you want to use the spiral or ribbon cutting options. If you would rather have a mandoline than the spiralizer you should check out the two options in the paragraph above.
For me I try to stay away from gadgets like these that take up a decent amount of space and have a lot of parts. Instead I try to use a good knife for most of my cutting although I do have this little spiralizer that doesn’t take up much space because I can’t do that with a knife. I also bought the Crofton Mandoline when it was available and I do use that when I need very thin or uniform cuts.
Crofton Vegetable Chopper Reviews
difficult to clean
I was not impressed with the chopper. I had to cut my onion in smaller pieces to cut easily. Cleaning took me an excessive amount of time to clean the blade. Portion size was perfect. I normally don’t post negative reviews; however, I did check the reviews and took a gamble. I will be returning for a refund.
Small piece of plastic broke off in my food
I purchased this from Aldi back in July/August of 2023. I’ve used it a handful of times and have been very happy with its performance, despite it being a pain to clean. I’ve never put it in the dishwasher, and have cared for it and maintained it as I do all of my kitchen gadgets. Today while eating chicken salad I not down on something small and hard. When I spit out the bite I was able to find a small hunk of clear plastic, less than 1/4 the size of a dime. The only thought I had was out had to have come from the chopper, as that was the only plastic that had come into contact with this food during prep. Sure enough a small piece exactly the same size was missing from the inside of the bowl/collector. Thank God it ended up in my food and not my 1 or 4 year old’s dinner. The box and receipt are long since gone, but I’m taking it up to Aldi this week because this kind of shoddy manufacturing is unacceptable.
I bought one for my son
I bought one for my son and his new bride for their new home and fell in love with it. I went back to look for it and couldn’t find it anywhere. I wish I would’ve bought two.
I wanted to like this
I bought this at Aldi 7/6/23 and was very excited. I have a similar one made by a different company but this one has dice and chop blades that are different sizes than what I have. The first day I used it chopping onions with the small size and one of the pins that hold the hinged lid on popped out of place – I was able to fix that. Today I was chopping sweet potatoes with the larger size. I cut the potatoes that same thickness as the the cube size so I would have uniform cubes. I had used it on turnips with no problem the day before. But today one of the blades popped out on one edge and bent. There is no way for me to fix that so I had to throw it away. Receipt and box were both disposed of so no option to return. I hope the rest of it holds up but so far I am very disappointed.
I love my chopper!
I got this at Aldi a few years ago, and it has been WELL worth it. (And no, I am not paid by anyone to say anything.) I am actually on here looking for another one for my daughter. Our Aldi no longer has this in stock, but I wish they did. I used to work at an organic vegetable farm and did a lot of cooking and prepping, and this has been well used and keeps working well.
