Aldi German Potato Sticks
The Deutsche Küche Potato Sticks are one of the more popular German Week items at Aldi. I haven’t tried these myself but from the packaging these look to be a french fry shaped potato chip.
Aldi’s potato sticks are available in Hash Brown Style and Herbs of the Alps flavors. I am not sure if Hash Brown Style is a plain potato flavor or a more heavily seasoned chip. I am also not really sure what to expect from the Alpine Herbs that they are using.
Since this item is pretty much only available twice a year during German Week it can go fast. So if this is your favorite chip you may want to stock up early.
They will be selling for just $1.49 for a 4.41 ounce (125g) bag during the Fall German week in 2022.
This is an interesting item to check out because of how popular it was when I polled r/ALDI on reddit. I wasn’t expecting it to be one of the top answers with all the other great foods Aldi brings in that week.
This type of chip/crisp/fry does seem to be popular in Germany but not widely available in the US. I am assuming they are somewhat different than the potato sticks in a can that you can get in the US.
The two brands of German Potato Sticks I was able to find in the US are Lorenz Pomsticks and Funny-Frisch Frit-Stick. Both of these are probably going to cost you a lot more than the $1.49 you will spend at Aldi.

Aldi doesn’t have these Potato Sticks all the time. The next time I see them I’m going to stock up! They are the most delicious potato sticks ever!

Utterly addictive
No MSG but I literally can’t open a bag and NOT eat the entire thing. So crunchy & tasty… makes you feel a little guilty though due to it being pretty greasy.

I love these too much. I wish more people hated them, so that they didn’t sell out so quickly. I once purchased a full display box, just so I could have some once they sold out. Not the best idea for weight-watching. All discipline vanished. Devoured them far too quickly. I miss them when they’re gone.
